Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as face-to- face, with the added benefit of increased flexibility, privacy and comfort. Digital platforms may offer interactive tools, such as screen sharing, messaging, and the ability to share resources during sessions. With digital therapy, clients are no longer limited to professionals within their immediate geographical area and can choose from a wider selection of specialists who match their specific needs.

Is online therapy effective?​

The process works in exactly the same way as face-to-face therapy with materials and exercises shared using video connection. You will require access to the internet and access to a camera (this usually comes as standard on modern mobile phone devices, electronic tablets, and laptops). I will send you an text/ email containing a calendar invite with a link to a virtual meeting room. All you need to do is click on this link and it takes you straight through to the video call. Once registered, you will be able to book appointments online.

How is online therapy delivered?

Everything we discuss in therapy is confidential. The software we use is GDPR compliant, so you do not need to worry about security and data protection issues. However, if I believed that you or someone else was at risk of harm, I would be required by my professional code, to share that information with appropriate authorities, to ensure safety. I will also work with you to ensure you get the most appropriate support at that time.

Will my information be confidential?

Sessions are usually weekly but this can be adjusted to suit your pace. The average duration for therapy is between 6 - 20 weeks but this can be subject to client need.

How often will I need sessions?

​Online payments are made on the client portal using an automated system called Stripe. It is easy and secure.  Payments are required ahead of the session.

What type of payment do you accept?

I work with a 24 hour cancellation policy where the full fee is payable for any sessions cancelled during that time period. Cancellation with more than 24 hours notice will not result in any fee being incurred. If you wish, your fee can be transferred to your next session or I will endeavor to reschedule at the most convenient time.
